Questions and answers About paw balm, dogs and delivery.
Is the balm safe if my dog licks it?
Yes. LYR Paw Protecting Stick is formulated to be lick-safe: it contains only natural oils and waxes, so the small amounts a dog licks off after application are harmless. Let it absorb for a couple of minutes, and don't let your dog eat a lot at once. It is fragrance-free.
How often should I apply it?
Before every walk in cold, snow or on salted roads, and ideally after the walk once the paws are dry. In summer a few times a week is enough, or after long walks on asphalt and rock.
Does it suit all dogs?
Yes, the balm can be used on all breeds and sizes, puppies included. If your dog has open wounds or deep cracks, have a vet look at them first.
How long does one stick last?
One stick normally lasts a medium-sized dog a whole winter with daily use. Large dogs or two dogs use roughly twice as much.
When will I get my order?
The first batch of 500 arrives in December 2026 and ships in the order pre-orders were confirmed. A larger batch follows in early 2027.
How do I pay?
You pay nothing when you pre-order. Once the goods are in Norway we send you a payment link (card or Vipps). You can cancel any time before paying.
Do you ship outside Norway?
Initially we ship within Norway. Delivery to the rest of the Nordics and Europe comes in 2027. Leave your email and we'll let you know.
What's in it?
Eight ingredients: sunflower seed oil, coconut oil, white beeswax, vegetable oil, shea butter, carnauba wax, candelilla wax and vitamin E. No fragrance, colour or parabens. Note that it contains beeswax and is therefore not vegan.
Does paw balm help against ice balls between the toes?
Yes. A thin layer makes the hair and skin between the toes slick, so snow doesn't pack into ice balls as easily. Combine with keeping the hair between the pads trimmed short.
Can I use it on the nose and elbows too?
Yes. The balm can be used on a dry snout, elbows and other dry skin areas.
How do I know my dog needs paw balm?
Look for dry, rough or cracked pads, your dog lifting its paws on salt or ice, or licking its paws a lot after walks.
What's the difference between paw balm and paw wax?
In practice the same. Both lay a protective film on the pads. LYR is a solid, wax-based balm in stick form, so you get both protection and care, without the mess.
How do you ship?
Single sticks ship as letter mail. 4- and 8-packs ship as tracked parcels, free within Norway.
Can I cancel my pre-order?
Yes, any time before you've paid. Email hei@lyrnordic.no.
Where can I buy LYR in a shop?
For now only here at lyrnordic.no. We're working with selected retailers in Norwegian mountain villages for winter 2026/27.
