What it is

LYR Paw Protecting Stick is a solid paw balm in stick form for dogs. It protects the pads from ice, snow, road salt, grit and hot asphalt, and cares for dry, cracked paws. The balm is fragrance-free and lick-safe, so your dog can safely lick its paws afterwards.

Who it's for

Any dog that's out in Nordic weather: hiking dogs, ski dogs, hunting dogs, city dogs on salted pavements and puppies getting used to their first winter. Suits all breeds and sizes.

How to use it

Dry the paws. Twist up the stick and run a thin layer over the pads and between the toes. Use before walks in cold, snow or salt, and after walks for care. The stick melts against the skin and absorbs in a couple of minutes.

Ingredients

Eight ingredients, all natural: sunflower seed oil, coconut oil, white beeswax, vegetable oil, shea butter, carnauba wax, candelilla wax and vitamin E. No fragrance, colour or parabens. Made under ISO 22716 (cosmetics GMP). Use within 6 months of opening. Store dry and below 25 °C. INCI: Sunflower Seed Oil, Coconut Oil, White Beeswax, Vegetable Oil, Shea Butter, Carnauba Wax, Candelilla Wax, Vitamin E.

Safety

For external use only. Avoid eyes and broken skin. Stop use if irritation occurs. Small amounts licked off are harmless, but don't let your dog eat a lot at once.

Format and size

Twist-up stick with cap. Fits in a jacket pocket and tolerates sub-zero temperatures without cracking. One stick normally lasts one dog a whole winter.

Developed by Lyr Nordic in Hemsedal and tested in the mountains through the winter of 2025/26 by our own and friends' dogs.
